The combination of land, sea and sky all merging into a kaleidoscope of inspirational colours: hues of reds, oranges & purples shift across the horizon until the sun disappears to reveal the first stars above. Imagine this stunning panorama, alone in the middle of a tropical lagoon, with only birds nesting nearby for company. The beauty and tranquility of Sian Ka’an is heightened at this hour and this sunset is one you will definitely remember forever. Sian Ka’an is an absolute must-do in Tulum, and the sunset version adds a layer of magic unseen by others...   

Just south of Tulum lies the incredibly rich and diverse biosphere reserve, an area where the underground freshwater rivers flow out to meet the Caribbean. Considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its ecological importance, the overlapping mix of ecosystems provides a living and breeding space for a variety of fish, mammal, bird and reptile species, all connected to each other by enchanting waterways. Designated a biosphere reserve, in this case we humans can also avail of the natural resources provided by Sian Ka’an, through eco-tourism and controlled fishing, for example.  

We drive approximately 2km inside the biosphere, where we board a small boat to visit Boca Paila and the Caapechen Lagoon – a vital point of convergence for many animals, where we have the chance to spot the resident birdlife, crocodiles, a plethora of fish & even the rare manatee. A short stop on the beach allows you to sink your toes in the sand. This is a beautiful trip through tropical saltwater channels, mangrove islands, flooded sink holes and nesting & breeding gounds for wildlife.

As we approach the end of the afternoon we select an exclusive spot to turn off the motor and float between worlds. Accompanied by a gourmet picnic to watch the colours change and the sun go down, you can add a bottle of wine or some local craft beer to your experience as an optional extra.

TOUR PROGRAM:

• 1pm / 3pm Pick Up (time varies depending on season of year)

• Once we enter the reserve, we drive for either 10 or 20 minutes depending on the road. Please be aware that the road is unpaved and bumpy !

• Boat tour of the Sian Ka'an Lagoons

• 6pm / 8pm Dropoff  (time varies depending on season of year)

Pick Up Time:

Please be aware that we will communicate your pick up time via a personalized email and it will vary from the automatic pick up time sent by the booking platform as we have to calculate it manually depending on your hotel/airbnb location.

Drop Off Time:

Please be aware that drop off time vary depending on hotel/villas locations and the rythm of each group.

Cancellation Policy:

Each tour should be booked by paying a deposit.

• In case of cancellation more than 24 hrs before the pickup, we do not charge you any cost and will give you back your deposit.

• In case of cancellation between 24 and 12 hrs before the pickup México Kan Tours will take your deposit in order to pay for the costs already made.

• In case of cancellation less than 12 hrs before the pick up or in case of no show we will charge you 100% of the total amount of your tour.

Payments:

Credit card payments have a fee up to 7% depending on Credit Cards. We recommend bringing cash. 
Our prices are in USD. Please be aware that we work with a monthly based exchange rate for Payments in Pesos or Euros.
