Rio Lagartos & Las Coloradas
- Duration: 12 Hours (approx.)
- Location: Tulum, Quintana Roo
The North Coast of the Yucatan is a treasure trove of hidden gems. Let us take you away from the Caribbean for a day to explore the unique pink lagoons and coastal mangrove rivers packed with wildlife, to the salt flats home to the largest flock of pink flamingo in North America.

A nature lover's dream, the RÃa Lagartos nature reserve is a fascinating environment to explore by boat. The salt-water river winds its way through dense mangrove forest home to hundreds of bird species and crocodiles, leading us to the breeding ground of the enigmatic pink flamingo. Decide for yourself which is the more impressive sight - the flock of thousands of pink birds or the deep pink color of the waters. The fact that few travelers venture this far only adds to the beauty and authentic vibe of the village of Las Coloradas, where we walk sandy streets and eat straight from the fishermen's catch.

This is a truly worthwhile experience full of unique vistas and incredible photo opportunities. We top it off by visiting a fantastic cenote to freshen up on the return journey home. The cenotes of Yucatan are just as varied as around Tulum, but with virtually none of the visitors. Trust us, you are in for a real treat.
